Bucklesbury Orange

Curated Colour : Orange and Yellow

Bucklesbury are known for their bright and vibrant range of colours that span across an exquisite range of journals, umbrellas, and bags. ‘Curated Colour’ is a transition between these hues, designed to flow seamlessly through the brands social and website feeds. The intention, to immerse the viewer in the intense colours Bucklesbury have to offer and, following the seasons and trends, guide them through a beautifully curated, colour and luxury filled year of ‘Undeniably, Beautifully, Bucklesbury.

As a part of the curated flow through the colour range of umbrellas and bags, we launched the project with the feel of traditional, northern hemisphere, English autumnal colours of the Orange and Yellow Umbrellas.

Talent - Tom Coulston

Combining the Orange and Yellow, offered us a new perspective as we could mix up the locations and trial out a few new ideas and story telling methods.

We worked closely with Tom Coulston, who is a trained actor, to enable us to move through motions and poses, thinking dynamically rather than statically. Using fabrics and locations to add in the story of the English heritage behind the brand, we were able to work with the items in and through movement, rather than placing Tom in posed situations. This shows the product and its real time uses of them, more intimately, whist still keeping the viewer engaged and involved in the colour story that we were working with.

We photographed the two colours in Autumn so that we could utilise the natural colours of the surrounding brickwork and turning leaves and the golden hues provided in the English landscape. Telling the story and connection between the two colours whilst making the feel and look of the stories different.
